This is absolutely wonderful gadget! I have been looking for this kind of solution to put in flash sites. It works fine! One question before you close this post. How do I get wind information (direction, speed & chill) from rss/xml feed to show as temperature etc? What changes do I need to make my code?

Hi. Just found your little weather widget and like it a lot. Just a quick question. Can I somehow translate the text from the rss. like Current Condition to Vedrid i dag :) (icelandic)

Also. is it possible to do a timing between the pages. lets say 10 sec and then the next page automatically loads instead of the buttons?

Hi, love the widget! It works well as a stanalone SWF but I can’t get it to work in another Flash file. I’ve tried using Loadmovie but it doesn’t pull in the details – I just get the forward/back buttons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much Brett. I’ve been working in Flash for about a month now and learning a lot. When I was asked to read an xml feed I froze but took the job on hoping to learn.
I learned so much from just reading you code that I didn’t know before.

Hi there – Great Weather widget! I have only one small problem; I’m tyring to change the format of document to more sort of a landscape version;
When I try to move the Icon Mask from “weatherDay” it doesn’t show; How do I go about moving the icon?? your help is greatly appreciated!! Thank You

hello,

Thanks a lot for the tutorial.

I was trying feedURL = “http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss?p=UKXX0052&u=c”;
it worked at localhost but when I upload to the server, it shows

“You don’t have permission to access /weather/weather.swf on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks…
